Wound Infection Test
Wound Swab, Tissue, Fluid
NGS DNA + qPCR Diagnostics for accurate microbial identification
17 antibiotic resistance genes & list of antimicrobials for consideration
3-5 Business days (excludes transit)
Designed to identify a wide range of pathogens in wound infections, aiding in targeted treatment strategies.
Chronic wound infections, including diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, surgical wounds
Osteomyelitis
The WoundKEY test offers advanced diagnostic insights for chronic and acute wound infections, including diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, surgical wounds, chronic leg ulcers, and osteomyelitis. By detecting bacterial and fungal pathogens, this test is particularly valuable in identifying polymicrobial infections, antibiotic-resistant organisms, and cases where traditional cultures may be inconclusive, thereby facilitating accurate diagnosis and targeted antimicrobial therapy.
Rapid sequencing using NGS technology, powered by advanced bioinformatics, enables broad microbial identification, detecting over 50,000 bacterial and fungal targets in a single sample. qPCR enables rapid detection of bacterial load and targeted pathogen identification, improving diagnostic sensitivity. The test also screens for 17 antibiotic resistance genes, supporting optimized antimicrobial therapy selection.
Validated for wound swabs, tissue, and aspirate samples, the test includes a sample collection kit and delivers results within 3–5 days, providing clinicians with timely and precise information to guide effective wound management strategies.
Each test includes a detailed laboratory report, providing clinicians with clear, structured data for fast decision-making. These reports include:
• List of bacteria and fungi detected in the sample(s)
• Identified antibiotic resistance genes
• Antimicrobials to consideration for treatment
