About this test:

Designed to detect pathogens in cerebrospinal fluid, crucial for diagnosing central nervous system infections.

Main Infections Detected:

  • description-item-image

Bacterial and Fungal Meningitis, Brain Abscesses

The CSFKEY test offers critical diagnostic insights for central nervous system (CNS) infections by detecting bacterial and fungal pathogens in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). This test can be particularly beneficial for diagnosing conditions such as bacterial and fungal meningitis, brain abscesses, and infections related to cerebrospinal fluid shunts.  CSFKEY enables comprehensive and rapid identification of a broad range of bacterial pathogens, including those that are difficult to culture or identify using traditional methods.

Rapid sequencing using NGS technology powered by advanced bioinformatics allows the detection of bacterial and fungal organisms across over 50,000 microbial targets. qPCR provides rapid detection of bacterial load and targeted pathogen identification, ensuring high sensitivity for critical CNS infections. The test also screens for 17 antibiotic resistance genes, aiding in antimicrobial resistance profiling and treatment selection.

Validated for CSF specimens, the test includes a sample collection kit and reports results within 3–5 days, reducing diagnostic delays compared to culture methods.
