About this test

Targets the identification of bacteria and fungi responsible for vaginal infections, offering detailed insights for effective treatment.

Main Infections Detected:

  • description-item-image

Pelvic inflammatory disease, Bacterial vaginosis, Vulvovaginal Candidiasis

The VaginalKEY test offers comprehensive diagnostic insights into gynecological infections, detecting bacterial and fungal growth and pathogens associated with conditions such as bacterial vaginosis (BV), vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC), and aerobic vaginitis. This test is particularly valuable in identifying polymicrobial infections and cases where traditional cultures may be inconclusive, thereby facilitating accurate diagnosis and targeted treatment strategies.

Rapid sequencing using NGS technology powered by advanced bioinformatics enables the detection of bacterial and fungal organisms across 50,000 microbial targets. qPCR provides rapid detection of bacterial load and targeted pathogen identification. The test also identifies 17 antibiotic resistance genes, assisting in treatment decisions.

Validated for vaginal swab samples, the VaginalKEY test includes a sample collection kit and delivers results within 3–5 days. This timely analysis supports clinicians in implementing appropriate therapeutic measures, thereby enhancing patient outcomes in the management of vaginal infections.

Interpreting our lab report

Each test includes a detailed laboratory report, providing clinicians with clear, structured data for fast decision-making. These reports include:

  • • List of bacteria and fungi detected in the sample(s)

  • • Identified antibiotic resistance genes

  • • Antimicrobials to consideration for treatment
